The Concept

Our Beam Beds are designed for those who appreciate the weight and texture of solid wood. By using seasoned oak beams, we ensure that the natural drying cracks and grain variations are stabilized, giving each bed a unique, rustic-modern aesthetic. The design focuses on “honest joinery”—where the mass of the wood provides the stability.

Craftsmanship & Production

  • Machine-Cut Precision: We use high-performance precision saws and thickness planers to calibrate these massive beams. This ensures that every joint is perfectly square, despite the immense weight and scale of the timber.

  • Artisanal Handwork: After the initial machining, every beam is finished by hand. We use hand-grinding techniques to soften sharp edges while preserving the natural “story” of the wood, including its unique knots and texture.

  • Simple Assembly: We believe high-end furniture shouldn’t be complicated. Our beds are engineered for simple putting-into-place assembly. The interlocking components are designed to fit together intuitively, requiring minimal tools while providing a rock-solid, squeak-free foundation.

  • Natural Finishing: To highlight the “brilliance” of the oak, we apply a multi-stage treatment of natural oils and waxes. This protects the timber from the inside out, leaving a breathable, velvet-matte finish that feels warm to the touch.

Why Seasoned Oak?

  • Structural Integrity: Seasoned wood has already done its “moving,” meaning your bed frame will remain stable and silent for generations.

  • Natural Aesthetics: The deep tannins in oak react beautifully with our natural oils, creating a rich, golden hue that darkens and improves with age.

  • Sustainable Mass: A solid oak beam is a carbon-storing masterpiece, making it one of the most eco-friendly ways to furnish a home.
